Gulden Krakeling acquires intellectual property rights from Biscuit International

Profile

Gulden Krakeling is one of the oldest biscuit and pastry brands of the Netherlands. The company supplies fresh and semi-fresh products to wholesalers and retailers throughout the country. Next to the well-known Gulden Krakeling brand, it also markets quality brands Bakkernij, and Vers Gulden Krakeling Meesterbakker. Gulden Krakeling offers, next to its regular assortment, a strong regional and seasonal assortment customized to local taste and demand. Gulden Krakeling distinguishes itself by high quality, freshness and high delivery reliability.

Biscuit International is one of the leading European manufacturers of private label biscuits. It offers a wide range of products including traditional biscuits and waffles, but also organic, gluten-free, added sugar-free, palm oil-free, and lactose free products. Biscuit International was created in 2016 after the merger of French market leader Poult and Netherlands-based Banketgroep. Since then, A&W (Germany), Stroopwafel & Co (Netherlands), Northumbrian Fine Foods (UK), Arlay (Spain), Aviateur (Netherlands), Dan Cake (Portugal) and Europe-wide present Continental Bakeries have been added to the group. Biscuit International is backed by private equity investor Platinum Equity.

Following the 2017 management buy-out of Gulden Krakeling, the company now acquires its brand name and intellectual property rights from Biscuit International. Gulden Krakeling’s current managing director and owner continues growing and developing the business in the Dutch biscuits and pastries markets.
